When Ennui crawls and comes to take possession of my soul,
I have no better medicine than a poetic potion;
No side effects and no complication in case of overdose.
When I think that one day I must die,
A fleeting feeling of my short-lived life comes to my mind
And inevitably a panic pervades my soul for a long fraction of second;
Then I find nothing than Ennui to remove that common and private fear
And you know why: I prefer Death to Ennui.
But I don't die, for I just need a poetic potion to treat my Ennui.
When Ennui crawls and comes to take possession of my soul,
I have two medicines to alleviate it: Poetry or Death
But I never took the latter, for I always choose the more efficient
And you know why: Poetry is stronger than Death.
